SYNERGISTIC  THINKING

Synergistic Thinking is a four-factor approach to learning/remembering.  ST strengthens learning, attempted often just through linguistic means, by incorporating powerfully visual, emotional, and physical accelerators…grounded in the power of analogy and association.

Athletes bring unique skills and abilities to their respective fields of play.  Exemplary of these are the abilities to: focus tightly on specific tasks, retain/lock onto information & respond effectively, and take complete responsibility for one’s play… while staying positive in the moment.  These well developed athletic skills should make these young people excellent students as well. Often this is not the case.  What is missing in the equation is that athletes can fail to associate their in-dwelling athletic aptitudes with their academic endeavors: i.e. listening to a lecture, reading textbook assignments, studying for examinations, taking tests, etc.

Synergistic Thinking teaches/coaches athletes to become effective in the four areas essential for academic success:

Grasping information              (Grab it!)
Organizing information           (Get it together!)
Retaining information             (Hang onto it!)
Calling up information             (Use it!)

Synergistic Thinking strengthens one’s learning/remembering abilities in these four areas.  With an (atomic structure) nucleus of “analogy and association,” the remaining seven electron aspects interact synergistically in generating strong retention skills, via Making Up Crap.
